Party Pizza Bites

Party Pizza Bites

I do not like football. I would say hate, but that’s probably too strong a word. I tolerate the game okay. Since I’m married to a man who loves football and the Green Bay Packers, football is now a part of my life.  Despite never being a fan, I do love the Super Bowl. Not the game itself, but rather all the other stuff: the commercials, the half-time show, and the food, the marvelous food. Every year, I love to make lots of tasty appetizers to eat while enjoying the spectacle with my husband Chris. This year will be no

Restaurant-Style Salsa

While pregnant with my baby, Samantha, I did not cook much at all. In fact, for the last two months of my pregnancy, I didn’t cook at all. Physically I struggled, particularly toward the end of my pregnancy. I dealt with bad asthma and legs that would not support me properly. The idea of cooking, under those conditions, stressed me. My husband prepared our meals every night. I’m blessed (and thankful) to have a husband willing to help out. It also helps that he loves to cook. Now that I’m five weeks post partum, I’ve started cooking again. I’ll admit that I’m

Slow Cooker Taco Dip

I first discovered Ro*Tel® nacho dip as a teenager. I fell in love! Ever since then, I’ve had a love affair with queso dips. My favorites are at Mexican restaurants, but I’m not limited to those. If it has cheese, I’m usually happy. Of course, I find it easiest to make the Ro*Tel® dip so I make it often. I’m always on the lookout for a good variation or something new.  The other night, when the bracket was announced for the NCAA tournament, my husband and I decided to make appetizers for dinner. He made some tasty  bacon-wrapped meatballs and pizza

Quick & Easy Stromboli

When I was single, I loved finding recipes that were not only quick and easy but also resulted in left overs. I tended to make one main dish on Sunday and ate the leftovers until they ran out. Then, I might make a small dish or two until Sunday arrived again. One dish I discovered during my single years was a quick and easy stromboli. It took me less than 30 minutes to make and left me with another meal the next night. What could be better than that? Now that I’m married with two girls (and one girl on

BLT Wraps

A couple of months ago, I needed to bring snacks to my book club meeting. Naturally, I turned to Pinterest. After all, I’ve pinned 1000s of recipes. I should be able to find at least one that would work, and I did. Since then, I’ve made these BLT Wraps once more for a family Easter celebration (and semi-pot luck). They were a hit! I love BLTs! During the summer, I will make them quite often. They satisfy without heating up the kitchen. When I’ve made the wraps, I turned them into appetizers, but I foresee making them a meal for

Awesome Cheese Fries

Whenever I got to a restaurant like Outback, Chili’s, or even Texas Roadhouse, I look at the appetizers and drool over their cheese fries, whether they be Aussie Cheese Fries or Texas Cheese Fries, they all look amazing! I mean, what can beat eating fries with melted cheese and bacon?  Over a year ago, I discovered a recipe for Cheesy Potato Fries on Pinterest. I had to try them. Let me tell you, they were a huge hit in my house! My husband loved them. I loved them. And bonus, they even tasted great as leftovers. We loved them so

10 Great Game Day Recipes

In just five days, it will be Super Bowl Sunday. While I only follow football to support my Jayhawks (woo hoo! We won 3 games this year!) and my husband’s team the Packers, I’m not what you would call a football fan. In fact, my “Super Bowl” is the Oscars. Anyhow, when I think about the Super Bowl, I always think about the food. A great pizza, appetizers, and maybe some dessert makes for the best menu on game day. At least for me, that is.  This year, I decided to compile some great recipe ideas for a game day

Pizza Roll Ups

As I’ve mentioned before, and will likely mention again, I love pizza. I’ve had a love affair with pizza since I was a little girl. So, when I saw a recipe on Pinterest for a pizza appetizer I had to pin it. It looked simple, easy, and delicious.  The recipe, for Crescent Pepperoni Roll-Ups, has been floating around Pinterest for years. It was one of my first pins, but I only recently tried it on Christmas Eve. These pizza roll ups were a HUGE hit with my in-laws. I don’t blame them. It was a flavorful treat. Now, I’m kicking
