Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Even though this My Favorite Things is technically not a Christmas song, it always makes me think of Christmas. And as we near Christmas, I can’t help but think of a few of my favorite things, especially as I think about giving gifts and making my list for my husband. So, in the spirit of Christmas and this classic song, I thought I would share my favorite things.
Rockcrok from Pampered Chef
In July, I started selling Pampered Chef. Before I sold Pampered Chef, I have to admit that I hadn’t used many of their products. Now, I love them all! At least all I’ve tried. One of my favorites is the Rockcrok line. I have the Everyday Pan which I use a lot for one-pot meals. Recently, I bought the Dutch Oven (4-qt) and Slow Cooker Stand (the 4-qt Slow Cooker Stand Set). I love these pots. They go everywhere–the grill, stove top, oven, under the broiler, in the microwave, and even in the Slow Cooker Stand.
Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara
Drugstore cosmetics are fine. But I’ve learned to appreciate cosmetics from higher end makeup lines and department stores (or my favorites Sephora and Ulta). While I know a lot of people love Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara, I’m not a huge fan. It’s okay, especially for the price (although I prefer Cover Girl’s LashBlast). However, my favorite mascara is Clinique’s High Impact Curling Mascara! It does a great job of highlighting my lashes.
I’m in love with my Tervis Tumblers. They hold in the cold longer than a regular cup (and heat, if I liked hot drinks). I have a few Tervis Tumblers including a Jayhawk one I just got for my birthday in October.
I collect angels and love them all! Of course, I have some favorites, like some of my Jim Shore angels and my angel praying the rosary. On my Christmas wish list this year is an angel statue for my garden.
A few years ago, Netflix approached me and asked that I become a part of their StreamTeam, a group of bloggers who write about Netflix once a month. I had never used Netflix until I said yes. Now, I’m not sure I could live without it. I love it, and it makes a great Christmas gift!
Apple iPad Pro
I never thought I would be one who would love an iPad or any tablet. Now I’m not sure how I would manage without it. Granted, I mainly use my iPad Pro for playing games, but I can also use it for more than that.
I have to admit something. I love Polyvore! It’s a website built for fashion and where you can create fashionable looks. It was there that I discovered wrap bracelets and became somewhat obsessed! I recently bought one from a friend, a consultant for Premier Designs. Not only do I love it, I want more!
Music is part of my soul! I need to sing and dance and listen to it. It really does make me smile. I’m a bit old-fashioned in this day and age. I still prefer to hold a CD in my hand and play it than download (although I’ve been known to do that, too). Some of my favorite artists to listen to are anything 80s, Duran Duran, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Pat Benatar, Adele, Heart, and more.
I might be slightly movie obsessed. Going to the movies by myself helps rejuvenate my spirit. There are so many movies that I love. Luckily, with Netflix, I get to see a lot of movies I enjoy (like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Pulp Fiction, Beauty & the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more). Additionally, there are some great movies I own or want to own, like The Force Awakens, Return to Me, and Kingsman: Secret Service.
One gift I want every year is books. I never get enough of them. In fact, it’s quite rare that I get books as gifts, even though they are my favorite thing. I love reading! This year has been tough, and I haven’t read as much as normal. But my love for books never ends. I own so many books it would be difficult to say which one is my favorite. So, I’ll just list a few books that I’d love to add to my collection: A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn, Winter People by Jennifer McMahon, Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King, and The Assassin’s Accomplice by Kate Clifford Watson.
Now, it is your turn. Tell me what are some of your favorite things.
*There are some Amazon Affiliate links throughout this post. If you click the link and make a purchase, I would get a small commission. Just enough for me to indulge in my favorite guilty pleasure, Taco Bell. This post was not influenced by my craving for Taco Bell at all. You will also find a link to my Pampered Chef page, where I am a consultant, as well as a link to Netflix, who I represent on the StreamTeam and do receive free Netflix in exchange for writing about them. All opinions are my own, as always.
