This past week was amazing. It was filled with family, love, and fun.
As I noted in my last Sunday Summary, we were spending the week in Florida at my parents’ house. Most of our time was spent visiting with my mom and dad. Nothing spectacular, just time together. Isn’t that always the best?
Not only did I get time with my parents, but I got some extra quality time with my husband. Grandma and Grandpa watched our girls so we could go to Mass on Sunday. It was the first time I enjoyed church in a long time. Then, on Tuesday, Chris and I went Christmas shopping on our own for our niece and nephew. We realized that it has been a couple of years since we had done that. Normally shopping is either a whole family event or one of us goes solo while the other stays home. Later that afternoon, Chris stayed home with the kids while my parents and I went to see Catching Fire at the movie theater. I enjoyed seeing a movie while my husband enjoyed having time to himself (we were gone during nap time).
To top things off, my husband and I went had a date night out Wednesday night. Woo hoo! We went out to dinner at Carrabba’s. It seems we always go there when in town; mainly because our town doesn’t have one. Afterward, we went bowling. We hadn’t been bowling in over 3 years. I should also mention that I’m awful at bowling. I don’t care though because I own my awfulness and have fun. Chris and I laughed a lot and had a blast! It had to be one of our best dates in a long time!
The next day was Thanksgiving. It didn’t last long enough. In the morning we were on the road back home. We stopped in Nashville for the night then left early the next morning for home. Luckily we made it home early enough for my oldest, who refuses to sleep in the van, to take a much-needed nap.
Now, on this day of rest, I am home trying to plan my upcoming week. We’ll see how that goes. After 2 days of driving, I’m not very motivated.

Thursday: Thanksgiving Day was a time for me to reflect on all the ways I am Thankful.
Friday: I shared how my Thanksgiving Day went. It was my first Family Thanksgiving in 5 years.
Saturday: Finally, an end to the National Blog Posting Month challenge. I took the time to look back on what I learned from the experience.
Blogs of the Week
Since I was either visiting with family or traveling this week, I didn’t have much time to do a lot of reading. I did read a couple amazing posts though. Please take some time to visit and read these posts. It will be worth your time. 🙂
I Was Gonna A post about picking our battles and NOT striving for perfection
5 Reasons to be Thankful Everyday A good reminder that we need to be thankful beyond Thanksgiving.
To The Mamas of Littles During the Holidays A post stressing that we need to worry less about doing so much during the holidays and instead do less.
Since NaBloPoMo is over, I will post less. Much less. You can expect to see a post about a Favorite Things party I will be attending this week and a new dessert on Sweet Saturday. Beyond that, I am not sure. I’ll let it be a surprise.
