Baseball Love

When it comes to sports, baseball rules our house. Yes, we love other sports. My husband enjoys pro football, and I can’t get enough of college basketball, especially my Kansas Jayhawks. However, come spring, our focus is purely on the national pastime, baseball. The sport plays a big role in our lives. My husband and I spend many summer nights watching baseball games on T.V.; mainly my team, the St. Louis Cardinals, much to his chagrin (he is a Brewer’s fan). Many of our conversations revolve around baseball: the standings, different players, and events surrounding the sport.  As I mentioned

Our Little Closer

I’m 42.  I have two little girls: one who is 3-years-old and the other 18-months. And, I’m 8 weeks pregnant. We are expecting #3! I’m beyond thrilled. My husband is happy, but as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.  We are referring to our newest addition as our Little Closer.   Today I had the most fabulous Mother’s Day ever because I spent it watching baseball. As I have mentioned before, I love and adore baseball! I just plain love the sport. My favorite professional team is the St. Louis Cardinals. I fell in love with the Cardinals soon after my family moved to St. Louis in 1981.  Then, the 1982 season completely hooked me, particularly after our World Series win.   Getting to go to a game, to me, is a gift! I’ve never been a big fan of watching sports on T.V. or listening to them on the radio. I’ll

In Love & Baseball

Friday night, my husband, Ginny, and I were watching the St. Louis Cardinals game on TV.  We do this often despite Chris NOT being a Cardinals fan.  In fact, we are part of a “mixed” marriage…I’m the Cardinals fan (the best team ever, if you didn’t know) and he misguidedly is a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers. As you might imagine, during baseball season, things can get tense in our house.  The tension amped up a bit once we had Ginny.  How would we raise her?  As a Cardinals fan or a Brewers fan?  Not unlike our *”marriage contract”, we
