French Silk Pie

My long time followers probably saw the title of this post and thought, what the heck? Denise doesn’t like chocolate. True enough, I don’t. In fact, I could live a happy existence without ever seeing or tasting chocolate ever again (well, except for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I love those!). However, I’m married to a man who adores chocolate and gave birth to a chocoholic, my oldest daughter Ginny. Heck, even my middle daughter, who used to shun chocolate, wants to eat it now.  Poor Chris suffers because I don’t like chocolate. I rarely bake anything with chocolate (I hate cooking

Sweet Saturday: Peanut Butter Cup Pie

It has been long-established in my family and among my friends that I don’t like chocolate. Heck, I’ve never really liked chocolate since I was a baby. Well, it is my husband’s birthday. He loves chocolate chip cookies so I baked them for him. And, of course, our daughters benefit as well.  Normally I bake the Toll House Cookies recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

Sweet Saturday: Life Without Chocolate

I live a life without chocolate. Or, to be more accurate, very little chocolate. I’m not allergic. I just don’t really like chocolate. I never have.  My Great-Aunt Verma gave me my first taste of chocolate, an Oreo, when I was 1. The chocolate made me sick. After that, I was not interested.  I remember, as a little girl, my teacher or another student passing out chocolates as a reward or a treat. I didn’t want the chocolate. Once I tried the small Hershey bar I was given. It was one of the worst tastes I had ever experienced. I
