15 Fantastically Funny Facebook Posts: 4th Edition

This morning I’m having a rough time. Why? Well, the baby woke me at 4:24 to nurse, then, once done, she refused to go back to sleep. Then, my three-year-old, Grace, got up at 4:45. When I told her to go back to sleep, she whined, “But, Mommy, I not tired.” At least I was able to shoo her to her room as I got out of bed. Then, I threw my hair into a pony tail, put on my yoga pants for the day, and took the baby with me so she wouldn’t keep my husband awake who just

15 Fantastically Funny Facebook Posts — 3rd Edition

Well, crap! Another week with even more drama. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of all the negative news. I hoped that the news would improve while I was on my vacation last week. I’m optimistic like that. Unfortunately, my hopes were crushed. Oh well. At least I follow some fabulous people who have a way of making me laugh. So, I want to share that laughter with you in this third edition of 15 Fantastically Funny Facebook Posts.  If you would like to nominate a post for inclusion, make sure it is a public post and

15 Fantastically Funny Facebook Posts — June 10

After a week with non-stop talk about a young man by the name of Brock and all that went with it, I think we can use some laughs. (But, hey, at least we stopped talking about gorillas and bathrooms, right?) In fact, my 15 Fantastically Funny Facebook Posts will be a regular feature on my blog almost every Friday. (That said, don’t expect one next Friday. I will be on vacation!) So, I hope you enjoy laughing with some of the funniest posts on Facebook this week. Enjoy! So, I’m not the only one? You know you’re a parent when

15 Fantastically Funny Facebook Posts

It has been a crazy week in the interwebz, what with gorillas (and then public “lynchings”), politics that never seem to end, another school shooting, and the end of the school year, to name a few. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired and need a good laugh, or two or three. So, in the interest of keeping ourselves amused, I thought I would share some of the funniest posts on Facebook in the last week.  Enjoy the laugh! You’re welcome! Parent hell for 1000 miles Might be disrespectful, but still true I’m waiting for my daughters to suggest

Holidays I Would Celebrate (If Only They Existed)

“You’re kidding, right? There’s no such thing.” I laughed. Chris and I were in the middle of one of our marathon phone calls we used to have before we got married; the “perks” of a long-distance relationship. “I’m not kidding. It is National Cheeseburger Day. Did you eat one yet?” He responded. It was then that I learned that “holidays” exist for every day of the year. From funny to serious, my future husband knew about them all. Well, maybe not all, but he would check a favorite website so he knew which one it was on a given day.

My Daughter Has a Potty Mouth

Disclaimer: This post is not my usual G- to PG-rated post. Some colorful language is used in it. If you are easily offended by language, particularly the “F” word, then I suggest you not read on any further. If asked what my favorite curse word is, I would answer quickly. I curse….a lot. But, and here’s the rub, I need to stop. After all, I’m a mom to two little girls. Usually, I’m good at keeping these words to myself, in my head or a whisper, but at times of great frustration (or bad drivers) the profanities tumble out of

Pumpkin Spice What?!?

As I was scrolling through my Facebook feed this morning, I saw a picture of a box of tampons. Curious about why my friend would share a picture of Tampax®, I took a closer look. It turns out they weren’t just any tampons, but rather, they were Pumpkin Spice Tampax®. Of course, I bit hook, line, and sinker. I believed that these were real. After all,it is fall and it seems everyone has gone a bit pumpkin spice crazy.  Luckily, these Pumpkin Spice Tampax® don’t exist; not yet anyway. Writer Connor Toole created a list of future pumpkin spice products,

How to Name Your Baby in 6 Easy Steps

When I was single, I would imagine my future children; children whose names I had long ago picked out (Gabriel and Virginia) while daydreaming during classes in college. What I didn’t factor in was that my future husband might have an opinion. Or, more accurately, that he might disagree with my choices.  Why, oh, why, must our significant others feel like they should have a say in the name of our children? Don’t they know that most women have names picked out long before they even date, much less get married? It goes hand-in-hand with planning our weddings.  I first

Lessons Learned From Watching the Academy Awards

Every year, I look forward to watching the Academy Awards. I love gaping at the celebrities dressed in their finery and posing as they walk the red carpet. I enjoy the telecast, guessing who will win what award, despite not watching most of the films.  To me, the Academy Awards are my Super Bowl. I’m not a football fan, but I am a movie fan. I absolutely adore films and the escape they provide. There was a time in my life when I would attempt to watch every nominated film prior to the Oscars. Since becoming a mom, going to

My Ten Dream Super Powers

Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up some day with super powers? I have to admit I do fantasize about that on occasion, usually when I’m frustrated about a situation. This week, I decided to join the Tuesday Ten for the first time and contemplate the ten super powers I would most like to posses.  1. Invisibility: With two little toddler girls, there are times I wish I could be invisible for a moment or two. Invisibility would mean using the bathroom in peace and without an audience!  2. Duplication: Wouldn’t it be fabulous to be able to split into
